Zoe Wilkens,

Founder of SENSORYLAND

®

My professional background is in pediatric occupational therapy, with additional specialized training and certification in autism. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with children of all ages with a wide range of developmental, neurodivergent, and medical needs. Each child has brought their own strengths, challenges, personality, and unique way of learning—and those experiences have deeply shaped the way I think about learning today.

I saw again and again that learning doesn’t have to happen one way—and that meaningful learning opportunities should feel accessible to every family. I wanted to make hands-on, meaningful learning practical and accessible for families—while helping children build skills they can use.

Those experiences inspired me to create SENSORYLAND—a place that celebrates hands-on, multi-sensory learning and gives children opportunities to learn through doing.

As important as pencil-to-paper handwriting practice is, sometimes children need more than another worksheet. They may need to move, touch, explore, create, and experience letters in a different way. I wanted to make that kind of learning practical and within reach for families—while still keeping meaningful handwriting practice on paper at the heart of it.

That’s the balance behind SENSORYLAND: helping children explore, learn, practice, and grow through playful, multi-sensory experiences that connect back to handwriting.

At the heart of it all is a simple belief:

Learning can be meaningful, playful, and within reach.
